Education That Encounters
Beyond knowledge, a learning model that transforms Zambia’s future with the person as its center.
St. Vincent Pallotti School
Westwood, Lusaka
God only asks that we begin! On the first day of new year in 2015, 2 students and 1 teacher joined together in a farmhouse living room. By 2016, that number increased to 109; propelling the breaking of ground for the construction of a new school house in July 2017. Just 13 months later, on October 19 2018, St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic School was officially blessed and inaugurated.
Today, 300 children - grades 1 through 5 - are educationally engaged to know that a better world is possible, if we are committed fraternally and academically for the common good.
To ensure health and personal safety, two school busses pick-up and drop-off the students before and after lessons, and a nutritious lunch is distributed midday. With its formative role in shaping the local community, there are tentative plans to take the school up to grade 12.
