Vocation of Love & Service

Seminary

Lusaka, Westood, Zambia

“Young people in particular,” writes Pope Francis in Lumen Fidei, “ought to feel the constant closeness and support of their families and the Church in their journey of faith. Encountering Christ, letting themselves be caught up in and guided by his love, enlarges the horizons of existence, gives it a firm hope which will not disappoint.” In April of 2010, the Society’s first Zambian Formation House was blessed and inaugurated by the Archbishop Emeritus of Lusaka; and in 2012, a new block with a chapel, classroom, and multi-purpose rooms for the seminarians was built up.

However, due to the intermittent vocations, it was instead utilized as a school house for the growing number of students. By 2018, with the school’s expansion, it again shifted to its original intention; and as of 2021, 5 of St. Vincent Pallotti’s first Zambian seminarians are in training!
